A MESSAGE FROM THE OWLL 

May  2023

To all Members and Users,

The date for the first OWLL luncheon for 2023 has been set.  The first luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 7^th from 12 noon to 2:00 pm.  We invite those who would like to attend to sign up before Thursday June 1^st.  Registration will end on June 1^st.  Please contact Mike Lackey at the log library to have your name added to the sign-up sheet.  Hopefully, we will have a sign-up sheet ready on the website for future luncheons.  Registration is limited to 20 members plus guest.  If possible, we request that each member invite a non-member that would be interested in knowing more about the library and what the library has to offer, not only to practicing geoscientists, engineers, and land personal but the general public as well.

OWLL Director Bob Gaddis will give a short presentation on “Scoping-Arkoma Seismic”.  Bob Gaddis’ Bio and Abstract is included with this Newsletter.  There will also be a tour of the library for those interested.  Our purpose is to spur interest in the library, to re-acquaint with those that have not been to the library for some time and to promote the library as an institution that current and future industry professionals can rely on for historical and current data.  A round-table discussion will be held to discuss industry trends, improvements to the library, and other topics of general interest.  Register early, space is limited, and the food is guaranteed to be good.

If you are unable to attend this first luncheon, not to fear, we plan on holding future luncheons depending on the interest of the membership.

On a final note, officers and directors from the previous year have been re-elected for the 2023-2024 year.  They are: Richard Piqune- President; Gary Carnaghi- Vice President; Pat Ryan-Treasurer; Scott Schad- Secretary; Harrison Townes, Bob Gaddis, and Richard Langston- Directors.

The Library’s Board welcomes any suggestions and proposals from its members and users.  All are welcome to attend our monthly Board meeting held the third Wednesday of each month.  The next Board meeting will be May 24th at 12 noon at the Log Library.  It will be the fourth Wednesday for the May meeting.  All are welcome.
